BCCTV respects the intellectual-property rights of others and complies with Canada's Copyright Act(notice-and-notice) and the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) for content reachable from the United States.

Submit a takedown notice

If you believe content on BCCTV infringes your copyright, send a notice that includes all of the following:

  • Your full legal name, mailing address, phone number and email.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work allegedly infringed (with proof of ownership where possible).
  • The exact URL(s) on BCCTV where the allegedly infringing material is located.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

What happens next

  1. We acknowledge receipt and review your notice.
  2. If valid, we promptly disable access to the material and notify the user who posted it.
  3. The user may submit a counter-notice, which we will forward to you.
  4. Repeat infringers' accounts are terminated.

Knowingly making a false claim of infringement may result in liability for damages, including costs and legal fees, under Canadian and U.S. law.
